I see that some are advocating for scrambling #web content as a defense against #scrapers. There is a #SlipperySlope here: recently I notice that Zhihu (the Chinese equivalent of Quora) will scramble Chinese characters on pages if it thinks that the #browser is illegitimate, and Cromite (a privacy-focused Chromium fork) is somehow affected by this. I fear that widespread adoption of such, especially by commercial entities, could bar "non-approved" browsers from the web, which is concerning.

The Minnesota Randonneurs had a deceptively normal and friendly gentleman of a respectable age at today’s St Paul Classic bike ride. He slyly attempted to recruit me, claiming that the group does short rides of 60 miles or so.
But I know cults. I’ve been in cults. I tricked him into confessing he’s quicker on the second 60 miles. And that 120 miles is kind of a decent minimum.
