LG KG800 Chocolate
(2006)A landmark release in mobile history that shifted the industry's focus from pure megahertz and megapixel wars toward high-end lifestyle design. The "Chocolate" was the device that single-handedly put LG on the global map as a trendy, premium manufacturer. It wasn't designed to compete on raw technical specs; it was built to look like a piece of minimalist art, a sleek tech accessory that captured the dark, glossy aesthetic of the mid-2000s.
Technical Specifications:
Display: 2.0 inches TFT (176 x 220 pixels, 262k colors)
Memory: 128 MB of internal storage, completely lacking a microSD expansion slot (one of its major hardware compromises).
Camera: 1.3 Megapixel lens with an LED flash, hidden neatly beneath the sliding mechanism to keep the exterior perfectly clean.
Audio & Connectivity: Dedicated MP3/AAC media player, Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP wireless stereo support.
Battery: 800 mAh Lithium-Ion battery pack.
Dimensions: 95 x 48 x 15.2 mm
Weight: Extremely pocketable and light at just 83 grams. The true magic of the LG Chocolate lay in its interaction and visual mystery. When the phone was on standby, the upper slider surface looked like a solid, seamless block of polished obsidian or a premium block of dark chocolate, completely devoid of any visible markings or physical keys. However, the moment a user touched the surface, the phone contextually brought itself to life, illuminating a grid of futuristic, glowing blood-red touch-sensitive capacitive navigation keys.
This early integration of touch-sensitive panels felt incredibly avant-garde in 2006, giving users a highly tactile, futuristic response. Sliding the smooth, spring-assisted mechanism upward revealed a traditional pink-and-black alphanumeric keypad for dialing. LG even went as far as presenting the phone in a luxurious, jewelry-like box that was reportedly scented like real chocolate during unboxing. The KG800 remains a brilliant monument to an era when aesthetics, mystery, and physical style trumped the specification sheet.

The F(x)tec Pro1 #dualSim #Android slider phone looks very neat. It reminds me of the #HTCTyTN2 which I loved.
It has a slide-out physical keyboard, and the screen can be tilted at an angle. It will come with an #Snapdragon835, and they are hoping for #AndroidOne certification.Unfortunately it looks like it will be beyond my budget, with pre-order at 649 USD.
