After seeing my post a friend advised me to see a doctor. I went today, and he didn’t find anything unusual. He asked about things that might be stressing me lately, and it seems the sleep paralysis wasn’t linked to a mental disorder.
I don’t think I was wrong to mention that some @econetwork matters are stressing me, especially with our well taking longer than expected..

Please, 🥺 I need some advice.
Lately, I have been experiencing what I think is sleep paralysis. While I'm asleep, I become aware but can't move, speak, or even shake myself.
Sometimes it feels like something is holding me down, and it's hard to breathe.
Can sleep paralysis kill someone? Why does it happen, and why would it suddenly start now? Does it mean that I'm going to die🥺, Has anyone else experienced this?

Across history, people described the same terrifying night visitor. Today, science calls it sleep paralysis, but many still believe something far darker exists.

A new study suggests people who think differently, feel watched, or experience sleep paralysis are more likely to report paranormal experiences. This is a new angle on understanding these events.

More seriously I realized at least for 10-11 years I just don't have to do anything specific to reach this "I don't feel my limbs" state. When I lie down and don't move it just happens automatically. It's even easier than in the past when I purposely tried to learn relax techniques for #meditation and #LucidDreaming because now, without setting a goal, there is no pressure to "succeed". Sometimes I try to use that already present state to meditation training. Or try to remember this state to somehow use it later for stress/anxiety relief (still not sure how).
It's kind of funny, when I need to do something and have to remind myself how to e.g. use my hand. Similar mental focus like in breaking sleep paralysis, even if not so much effort needed. Muscles are not really turned down, just my brain? mind? thinks they are unusable. Like hypnosis therapy depicted in movies... " Now your legs are very heavy" :blobCat_giggle:
And yes, I am weird freak who really loves #SleepParalysis.

@nekoow7 yeah, sleep paralysis really sucks. I had it on an almost nightly basis for the better part of a decade starting in my early teens. With me, I suspect it’s related to #Non24 disorder and it has largely gone away ever since I stopped trying to follow a normal 24 hour day.
I still get it once in a while, but they stopped being scary after the first decade. After that they were just uncomfortable. These days, they rarely happen and they’re more annoying than anything else.
The monsters with hot feet standing on me are long gone. I even breathe just fine. There’s no pressure on my chest. I just can’t move.
In the rare times it happens, my only concern is being able to get back to sleep quickly.

I thought my sleep paralysis would never happened again 😭 but it did. I should have let my cats sleep with me 😨

After some exchange (https://urusai.social/@nazokiyoubinbou/113271946360570675) I thought I should check if it's possible to open eyes during half-conscious #SleepParalysis (I have eyes closed and was surprised many people have open). And finally had an opportunity to do it.
So... it was as hard as trying to move any other body part. It required an effort to open one eye. Somehow I closed it again later. So even if eyeballs are not "turned off", eyelids seemingly are.
I also wondered if I open eyes, I would have hallucinations - normally I only hear things, have chaotic thought train and feel like floating in the air/vacuum. For brief moment after opening one eye, I saw something like cartoon character with blonde hair and pale pink clothes on the wall background but it disappeared quickly. Nothing later. Not really impressive.
Probably someone did similar experiments in more scientific way :blobcatjoy:

Sleep paralysis demons are fun sometimes and laughter makes them weak from the knees - so I made a comic about the times I was having sleep paralysis/nightmare/night terror/a surprise nap on the can!

Please share, and subscribe for FREE to my #IdiopathicHypersomnia awareness #comic to support me - a disabled, sleepy brained goblin that is half off their meds just to save a few bucks. (:

So sleep paralysis and sleep paralysis demons. Anybody in my web of fedizens experience this? Because mine’s getting pretty intense and people give me weird looks when I tell them about my ghosts.

How was last night? Did you have a good or bad #dream?

Nap of many disasters - first an "awareness attack" (sense of feeling my body in HD that would prelude sleep walking/night terror if I didn't know how to stay awake) - decided to fuck it and let it do whatever since It'd be my partner's problem - "cold attack" follows and keeps me away anyway, saved my partner from me walking around in terror - and finally MASSIVE #SleepParalysis and Layered, Realistic, #VividDreams.

Last night I got restless #sleep and started drifting in and out of #paralysis; #dreaming I was in my bed next to my partner but when I tried to get their attention to wake me up I was just talking to my #dream.
But then I started #lucidDreaming and my partner was there I might as well have fun; so I started messing around and doing all the kinky shit I like to do and they were totally down with it!
So yeah, had my first #sleepParalysis #lucid wet-dream!
