  1. Sleep apnea episodes up to well over 10 an hour over the last few days. This is not good as I'm supposed to be at 5 or less. I've been averaging 3. I'm not sure what's going on, but it ain't good. Hoping to not pop my clogs during the night. Might not be found for a month of Sundays... #sleepApnea #SleepApnoea

  2. Reader, it worked!

I wasn’t convinced but my mouth stayed shut and the tape stayed stuck on!

Taking it off this morning wasn’t too bad either, in that it didn’t rip half my beard out!

  3. Did I mention that since losing weight my sleep apnoea has paradoxically gotten worse?

My CPAP machine is providing more pressure and my mouth is dropping open leading to leaks and snoring.

This didn’t used to happen before.

I’ve had to use a chinstrap again but they’re uncomfortable and not working as well as before either.

Anyway, tonight I’m going to try taping my mouth shut 😅

I’ve seen mouth tapes before but avoided them as I’ve got a beard, but I just wanna sleep without a damn chin strap on so hopefully this’ll do the trick.

NGL, I feel a bit like Abe from Abe’s Odyssee 😅

    Wish me luck!

  4. 7. After a bit of an interrupted night - a sore septum night last night - with rough sleep from 5am when I took off the mask, I can't believe I used to cope on sleep interrupted by bad dreams and abrupt gasping wakings. I don't know how I did it.

So if you think you might have #sleepApnea #sleepApnoea get yourself checked out. If you need to sleep with a #CPAP it's not the end of the world. Some people sail through, I made hard work of it, but it works in the end.

  5. This is an update on my experience of learning to sleep with a #CPAP machine. It's intended primarily as encouragement for anyone newly diagnosed with #sleepApnea #sleepApnoea, because for me, early on, reading about other people's success stories was the only way I stuck with it.

I was diagnosed November 2024, which I wasn't really expecting. I really really wasn't expecting to be told I needed to sleep with a CPAP machine and was a bit alarmed at the prospect esp being claustrophopbic cont'd

  6. Does anyone who uses nasal pillows find they get pressure on the septum? Sometimes it can get quite uncomfortable and tonight it's been bad enough to have to take the mask off and could be what's wakened me. Other nights it's not such a problem. Is this a known issue? I'm not aware that I have a particularly huge septum 😄 Mask is a small. #cpap #sleepapnoea

  7. For anyone with #sleepapnoea : get a high quality anti snore bite guard.

I've now used it for several weeks. And while the beginning took some getting used to, but after a couple weeks of tweaking the "strength": it's a massive improvement.
From basically suffocating at night to actually getting oxigen

I don't always feel like absolute garbage after waking up even after 12h of sleep.

Some before and after monitoring by the SnoreLab app below (also great app, btw)

  8. My CPAP mask cushion has torn and I now can't wear it; I'm going to be so tired and grumpy and tired 😭

  9. I’m not really that surprised that I’m #covid positive again, it’s an occupational hazard and if I didn’t have to test for work I’d think I had a bad cold; but what is surprising is that I had it just two months ago.

Of course you can get it again as soon as that but still unlucky.

I do wonder whether #SleepApnoea has anything to do with it, but according to recent academia it affects how severe you get it, not how often.

    Meh.

Before my sleep Aponea was controlled I was a mess, the treatment is easy and do ask your GP if you meet the possible criteria

  12. My trusty CPAP machine has been keeping me alive and somewhat functional for the last 9 nine years, but yesterday it was time to break out the Torx screwdriver set and replace the blower motor 🪛😅
