  1. What if the villain's lost sense of humour was locked in a bottle and unleashing it weakened him? 1987's #SlavesOfTheAbyss isn't your typical #FightingFantasy book - it's a genre-bending investigation that proves #gamebooks can tell stories as complex as any RPG.

  2. #SlavesOfTheAbyss: Well, the final episode, set in the dimension of evil, overall, wasn't quite as strong as what came before. Still, good stuff. And I loved the different endings! One is literally: you have defeated the bad guy, saved your own ass, but left all the slaves behind. Another one is: you have freed the slaves, but you were left behind - now watch them be enslaved again through the magic mirror. Ouch!

    Seriously, amazing book!

  3. #SlavesOfTheAbyss, I defeated the enslaving hornet army and the baddie himself. And yet, the book goes on. Now I'm supposed to go down into Hades... or his dimension, to free the enslaved people. Wow, this book keeps on going!

  4. #SlavesOfTheAbyss from #FightingFantasy: I made it to the helpful witch living in her house on legs. The way to get there was interesting. A highly imaginative way to devise a maze without investing too many sections.
