The iKon stainless-steel slant is a superb razor once you learn the angle. Great shave.

I don't think *every* shave can be "exceptionally good," but sometimes it seems like it — the result of excellent products, excellent razors, and a fair amount of experience. Today's shave was extremely pleasing which is the run of this particular mill. (Of course, using a good slant razor gives a definite assist.)

I do love the Superlant, and Meißner Tremonia's Exotic Elemi is not too shabby either, especially with my beloved Omega Pro 48.

I am finding I like dome-shaped shaving knots these days. I talk a bit about it in today's SOTD post:

A great shave is a fine start to the week, and this morning's shave used a great brush — "great" in size as well as quality.

Aces over 8s — a terrific shaving soap and a terrific shave, thanks also to my double slant on a two-day stubble.

Sardinian Honey and Floïd
Very nice shave today — the Parker Semi Slant is a fine slant. (I believe "Semi" is a weasel word to make the name less frightening.) And Floïd fragrance is awesome: old-fashioned masculine.

I don't know of a better shaving soap than Phoenix Artisan's Formula CK-6. This morning's shave brought a renewed appreciation of this soap.

@dave
Today I brought out my own 37. That razor gives a great shave, doesn't it? -
@dave I love a slant. I have a Merkur 37G, among others. I highly recommend the double slants from Phoenix Shaving — superb razor.

Also, the Superslant from Italian Barber is exceptional.

Some mornings things just go extremely well. And the razor today is remarkably good.

A St. Patrick's Day shave
And a shave responding to a reader request.

Tallow + Steel in Winnipeg make some very nice shaving soaps and aftershave. This morning I used their Cognac, along with the stunningly superb Stealth Slant, now, alas, a vintage razor (though the Superslant recently introduced by the same maker makes up for the loss).

A great shave — and the slant razor debate settled.
I'm having fun with Opinionate.io, and today it supported my position on the slant razor.

The annual timed shave (never done in haste: information, not competition).

I love this razor — a double-slant that is *extremely* comfortable as well as highly efficient.

@walton
Oh, wow. Many thanks. The 22mm size is ideal, IMO, though I also like 20mm and I have a 19mm that's quite nice — and of course, there's the Wee Scot (mine being particularly good, from pre-Vulfix days).I have ordered the brush, and I picked up another one of the $27 double slants because that's such a good razor I want to be sure to have a spare. Or two.

I wasn't going to do another shaving post so soon, but this double-slant razor changed my mind. I was a little apprehensive, but the razor is extremely comfortable and not at all inclined to nick. I'm going to buy another for my son, and perhaps a spare for me.

It's always a pleasure to find a good new slant (and here I refer to a style of double-edge safety razor), and the pleasure is increased if it has a low price.
