Ex-DSB ME high-performance Diesel locomotives purchased by SKPL 4 years ago have now gained regulatory approval as series SU175 (I'm still wondering why we've started numbering them based on the max speeds, but I suppose it's easy to remember). First, the ex-DB first class IC cars snapped up by SKPL and rented from them by PKP IC are supposedly running now, starting with the Kyiv Express (uncoupled in Dorohusk) and the Marszałek Piłsudski to Kraków. Od 1988 do 1996 roku Kolzam Racibórz i ZNTK Poznań wyprodukowały łącznie... 13 spalinowych wagonów motorowych i 3 doczepne. ČSD miały łącznie 680 sztuk M 152.0, czyli 810 zwanych „motorákami”, które bardzo dobrze sprawdzają się na „bocznych”, mało napełnionych szlakach. W Polsce chyba nikt nie zadał sobie trudu choćby podpatrzeć jak to robią sąsiedzi, a tym bardziej kupić lub wypożyczyć/wydzierżawić. Dopiero w minionej dekadzie SKPL skupujący różny tabor kupił 8 „osiemsetdziesiątek”, które teraz eksploatuje w ramach przewozów pasażerskich na mało uczęszczanych szlakach.
Zamiast zainwestować w produkcję lub zakup wagonów motorowych decydenci PKP woleli wyprawiać na takie mało obciążone linie „stonki” z „bohunem” czy legendarne już „gagary z bipom”, czyli ciężkie, paliwożerne lokomotywy spalinowe ciągnące jeden piętrowy wagon. Zatem nic dziwnego, że potem masowo likwidowali lokalne połączenia między miasteczkami i gminami, „bo sie nie opłaco”.

…Aaaaand to offset the RegioJet news, #SKPL announced the end of their Warsaw-Rava-Ruska(-Lviv) connection from the September timetable - only the PKPIC train will serve this route. No particular reasons were given, other than that SKPL and #Ukrzaliznycia jointly decided "the cooperation with regard to a commercial train has run its course" (the exact words don't translate well, I think).
