In his #hmc_con2025 keynote, @simonhodson99 presents CDIF (https://worldfair-project.eu/cross-domain-interoperability-framework/) which aims to become a "Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework". With regard to controlled vocabularies, CDIF supports the use #SKOS (over OWL):
> CDIF recommends using SKOS as a solution to the question of how to provide a useful, machine-actionable representation of a controlled vocabulary.
This nicely takes up points from a short discussion we had in the #SkoHub workshop earlier on.

"Publish & reconcile against #SKOS vocabularies with #SkoHub", a #SWIB24 workshop in the Americas timeslot (17:00-21:00 UTC on 25 November), facilitated by @steffenr42, @tobiasnx & @Maipet. From the workshop description: "This hands-on workshop will guide participants through the process of publishing controlled vocabularies encoded in SKOS using SkoHub Pages. After that we will see how to use these vocabularies in reconciliation tasks with SkoHub Reconcile."
-
@osma I've added #SkoHub, #Metafacture and #lobid stickers at the registration desk. Feel free to get some. #swib23
-
#111BiblioCon

Wir haben Sticker! #kimws23 (KIM-Workshop) und #BiblioCON können kommen. #skohub #Metafacture #lobid

CW: work stream #DHFromScratch
On the other site, I tried to give a glimpse into what #DigitalHumanitites people do all day from time to time, under the hashtag #DHFromScratch. Will do the same here. Again, it's lots of planning, discussion and counseling, a bit of doing presentations and another bit of actual coding:
Today, there's a workshop coming up about a #SKOS hosting software called #SkoHub, in which I'll do a bit about #ReconciliationAPI, an implementation of which I've been working on (#NodeJS, #ExpressJS, #ElasticSearch). Hopefully we'll finish in time for me to be able to watch some of the stuff at the #nodes2022 conference.
So far, the week also had planning for a common DH initiative and for a Shared Task in DH (#ReferenceExtraction - if you're into this, pls get in touch). There was a discussion about #Ontology for historical administrative entities, and one about which #SQL server to choose for a project, some #XQuery coding and tomorrow a discussion about #NLP methods.

Just watched @literarymachine 's and my #swib19 talk in #skohub where we do a demo with #Mastodon playing a central role: https://blog.skohub.io/2020-01-29-skohub-talk-at-swib19/
We made a quick poll with the audience & only a few had already heard of Mastodon back then.
Since then, we had to shut down SkoHub PubSub and Editor due to limited resources. The happier I am that @steffenr42 has just joined our team and will be focusing on SkoHub development, esp. #reconcilation & #ActivityPub support: https://blog.skohub.io/2022-11-skohub-workshop/

@eloquence @JohanEmpa You might be interested in #SkoHub which combines #SKOS and #ActivityPub: https://skohub.io

I started working on #ShEx shapes to validate whether a SKOS file is ready to be published with #SkoHub. Unfortunately, the tooling does not seem to be that great yet. For example, I have problems with the few online validators that are around.
Does anybody know of a good SheX validator for the command line?
