Had to give my nails a rest since Oct, because they were not on great condition.
Could have done with them earlier (but wanted them as fresh as poss) then I wouldn’t have skin picked so much.

So I am sat here feeling angry and sorry for myself with a hugely swollen eye and blurred vision, wondering what comes next.
To all those suffering from #SkinPicking disorder (#dermatillomania) - I see you, I hear you, I believe in you. Be kind to yourself.
This stupid disorder is unbelievably hard to live with. You may never be free from it, but at least know that there are people out there who understand and are right there with you.

I've had #dermatillomania (#SkinPicking) for as long as I can remember. I find imperfections on my skin and dig at them until they are a bleeding open sore - on my face, arms and legs. At any given time I can have tens of wounds on my face.
I've never had an infection, though. Until now. I'd been picking at my eyebrow for a week or so, and yesterday it was a huge painful cyst. It was so huge and painful I popped it with a sterile needle. Now my _whole eye_ is swollen...

CW: Images of cleavage with severe skin irritation, slight breast, no nipples
One of the spots on my chest was apparently scabbed over today, and I (being #ActuallyAutistic) was absentmindedly picking at it just now. Yes that's right, it's bleeding. Ugh.
I've painted it over with liquid bandage. I'd rather not cover any of that area, but that's at least minimal, and will keep out germs. It also stops me picking.

I completely forgot how getting my nails done, really helps with my dermatillomania and trichotillomania.
I still pick, but not as badly when it’s my natural nails. You’d think acrylic nails would make it worse. I think it’s mostly down to my anxiety of not wanting to ruin my nails 😂
