  14. In my latest piece for The New Daily I explore how much each industry will be impacted by the tightening skills shortage. This is obviously a complex thing to forecast but I think I found a decent proxy. We can look at the economic value that each industry produces and divide that by the number of workers in the industry. The top half of this chart is arguably occupied by sectors that have more wiggle room to attract staff by offering higher wages. Just have a look at how much mining stands out - mining will never want for workers as wages can be adjusted. I am particularly nervous to see health, education, and construction in the bottom half of the chart. The skills shortage is already holding these sectors back significantly.
