  5. Ok. Again, not a flex or brag, but people sleep on the building trades as a viable option.

    Here is a paystub from 2014 where I netted $2370 in one week working like 6 tens and an 8 or something.

    Yes I worked many hours that week, but there was a sense of urgency as always.

    You don't always have to work around the clock, but the work is there if you want it.

    There is room for you.

    As a person who comes from a family of electricians, I can tell you that the world needs more electricians and other skilled tradespeople. They can always find work, they make everything better, and they can point at the results of their labour and say "I helped make that".

    There, you can find lovely examples of the manual arts — woodworking, metalworking, glazing, and mural painting — skilled trades long out of fashion.

    But the numbers of old post offices are dwindling, despite the best efforts of historic preservationists and community leaders to save them.
