Dijon ouvre un second skating rink dans les années 1910
Après avoir bénéficié d’un premier skating-rink en 1877, la ville de Dijon vit s’ériger le Skating-Palace1, en lieu et place de l’ancien Cirque du Tivoli. L’établissement ouvrit ses portes le 4 novembre 1911 avec une soirée animée par le Skating Club de Dijon.

Skating Borély à Marseille (13)
Le skating-rink du parc Borély fut inauguré le 21 juillet 1876 selon Le Petit Marseillais à 21h00. Selon le journal, il se situait dans le parc Borély, près du château, et il était brillamment illuminé.

Today is bright and crisp in Edmonton, and I thought Churchill Square might be a good place to visit on my first day back in a long while. It didn’t have the food trucks and patio chairs I had anticipated, but it did have some interesting Christmas decorations.
The artist probably anticipated snow on the ground when they devised these giant snowballs, but sadly the lighting cable coverings are still very apparent. Thanks to some curious visitors who showed them to me, I discovered windows in one of the snowballs and when I looked inside I saw a very elaborate train set.
I could not find the name of the artist for the sculpture in the following pictures, but if and when I do, I will post it here. The colourful protrusions are a lot of fun, and they too would probably look even better if there were snow on the ground.
Here enjoying the skating rink in front of City Hall are a few folks who have it all to themselves.

@ZekeMD Love the masks! When my daughter was 7, a friend had a skating rink b-day party. As she skated around, I decided I would rent some skates (not a very good skater!). I'll never forget the look on her face when she saw me with skates on - so happy! It's a small memory I'll cherish forever, because, now 11, she'll never be that excited to see her clumsy dad on skates again!

I survived bringing the dog for a walk this evening. Four legs are good for not slipping. I walked on the porous tarmac of the road.
Some neighbours in the estate above have parked their cars in our estate. The hill up there can be lethal.
