Got the replacement for the wrongly sized "@" keycap. Jim apparently watched my video about the new #Commodore keycaps, contacted me before I could even send an email and immediately shipped replacements. He also included a "K" because mine had a little paint spot (which I didn’t even see but he noticed it in the video). Now my #Sixtyclone #C64 looks just perfect!

Ordered the #SixtyClone version, an awesome reproduction of the short board pcb.
Pulled the useful items from the older board, ordering necessary parts from Digikey, Mouser and a few more eBay sales.
Most of the items are now soldered on. Just missing a line filter, power connector, and the cartridge connection.
Have a new power supply, as the old one appears dead and they are filled with some sort of epoxy so you can’t just repair them.

Not every brilliant plan in my head turns out to be just that.
I.e. using zif sockets for all large chips in my #SixtyClone board isn't possible. Also the towers of power of the VIC-II Kawari and the MOS CPU replacer don't seem to be a good idea.🤷♂️

The new Sixtyclone C64 motherboard I started soldering a couple of weeks back is done, all that's missing is the modulator replacement. At first I wasn't convinced of the colour, but seeing it in black and gold I must say it's a beauty.😍
I'm still missing all the small caps, EMs, and small chips as well as all the plug sockets.
Sadly there are no modern replacements for the 252535 Super PLA and the two MOS6526 CIA chips.

My weekend soldering project: A remake of the last #C64 mobo #commodore ever made, assy 250469 rev. B. This is a #sixtyclone made by Rob Taylor. Not done yet, or even cleaned. I didn't really plan on making this now, so it's all parts from my parts bin and spare boards. Kind of like the row of old brown EMI filter caps I salvaged.
