Schreib' einfach an […]

  2. Did anyone miss my usually late weekend theme posts? No? Well, here's one anyway..lol prepared on #Saturday, but only so much time before work, and no energy after!
#SixOnSaturday wild and garden plants (actually all of these shots are from the garden, but some of the plants put themselves there) from the past week.
Top row left to right: natives Potentilla gracilis and Campanula alaskana (ex rotundifolia); Dasiphora (Potentilla) fruticosa cv -contunued--

  3. Hey, this one's on time (only 9:33 p.m. here!) #SixOnSaturday for the end of #November #landscape colours are reduced to just a few though the sky still carries Saule's goodwishes at her rising and setting and her light plays with #shadow in #SnowMother 's offerings and #LeafMother 's leftovers!

  4. Nevermind that it's Tuesday or that the photos are a couple of weeks old... this is when I got the collage finished...lol #SixOnSaturday Much of our October snow melted, though not all, and we have a fresh coating since these photos. #garden #RockGarden #mosstodon #fungi #Alberta #November #alpines #cactus #CrossQuarterDay #animist

  5. #AutumnColour with a bit of #sun and a good dose of #rain for #SixOnSaturday
One native plant -the Lysimachia - in an area of #MarginalGarden (in this case meaning a spot that was planted, mostly natives/near natives, then largely left to do its own thing), plus one non-native shrub left to its own (and the moose's!) devices -the Cornus-. The rest are #NativePlants wild on the acreage or just outside.
#foliage not quite #florespondence or #BloomScrolling but same folks might enjoy? #Alberta

  6. For my second set of three for #SixOnSaturday is a collection of perennials from the late summer cutting garden: coneflowers, asters, chrysanthemums, verbena, allium, hydrangeas, and goldenrod.

  7. @nature @plants 11:19 pm here, just squeaking in for #SixOnSaturday lol
This one is all about #weeds +1 weed adjacent and a bonus illustration of the, er.. vegetative cycle?

Top right and bottom centre are from garden/yard, the rest are from a #SlowWalk on the #farm Top centre: a fallen poplar leaf on a bit of dried cow poop ..

  8. @plants A bit more catching up (it'll never happen, many hundreds of new photos since then...lol)- this #SixOnSaturday came from a #RainyDay or 2 in early May.#Spring #flowers enjoying the moisture.
Top left to right Pulsatilla vulgaris Rote Glocke (funny to see that anglicised in so many places as Red Clock, which doesn't even make sense! it's Red Bell! This was oddly my latest pulsa to flower, even though in a relatively warm bed... cont--

  9. The love of my gardening life. My beautiful sudachi tree. She had 4 beautiful sudachi this fall and we made them into an amazing aioli with squash fritters.

  10. Okay, another combo post or #mashup as the youngsters might say 😉 First #butterflies of the year (Aglais milbertii Fire-rim Tortoiese Shell + Nymphalis antiopa Mourning cloak- 2 beautiful butterflies with great Latin names!) for #InsectThursday (saw first bees too, but another post for that).
First #flowers of the year- Salix sp #pussywillows for #FlowersOnFriday + the ongoing return of dramatic #clouds rounding out #SixOnSaturday

  11. #SixOnSaturday the first half of #February was mostly mild, though not serious melting weather (that's a good thing at this time of year!) Usual late winter scenes of #moss #lichen #wintergreen , tantalising crystal #snow , dried #leaves as memories of growing seasons past and promise of future growth! Plus a Chickadee- spirit of the #BorealForest #Alberta #GetOutside #winter #Mosstodon #LichenSubscribe #ForestFloor #CountryLiving #animist #pagan

  12. For my second set of Six on Saturday, a set of December berries: Ilex latifolia (lustreleaf holly) - Gaultheria procumbens (American wintergreen) in a client's container garden - branches of Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red' (winterberry) in a client's container garden.

  13. Three of my Six on Saturday: Viburnum tinus 'Shades of Pink' - Wallflower collection - Camellia sasanqua 'Rose of Autumn' ...and they are all deer proof here in Georgia, Zone 7b, a criteria I must have for most of my clients.

  14. For #SixOnSaturday (clockwise from upper left) the exciting discovery that a few tangerines are ripe, rose Safrano, the final Sternbergia flower for its first blooming season, rose Paradise, narcissus bulbs ready to plant out (though the soil is still a tad too warm), and a good showing from annual vinca (Catharanthus roseus) despite yellow foliage from recent chilly nights. Definitely a celebration of November in the desert #garden! ☺️

  15. @plants #florespondence #SixOnSaturday the weather seems to be heading in a warmer, somewhat drier direction- the moisture has been good for recharging wetlands etc, and we have the mosquitoes to show for it 😆#CanGarden🇨🇦 #NAmericanGardeners #Alberta #July #seedgrown
top L-R native Symphoricarpos albus/Snowberry; Geranium pratense Mrs Kendall Clark; Lychnis chalcedonica pink form; bot L-R Hypochaeris maculata in front of Anthyllis vulneraria; Iris chrysographes; native (mountains) Solidago w Iris

  18. @plants #florespondence So, yeah, late again-- what can I say-- work days! #SixOnSaturday all from the #garden, though one is a self-sowing #wildflower

  19. Got to spend a couple hours working in the garden this morning, so here is my #sixonsaturday

A collage of #pictures from my 11' x 11' #garden. Three staggered swine panel trellises with multiple cold crops in the beds, and closeups of the #Pea and #Broadbean #flowers.
