Sooo, neues #iPhone => #PersonalWorkflows in der Siri #Shortcuts App teilweise manuell neu anlegen. 🙄
Am Küchenschrank gibt's ein #NFC tag und das scanne ich immer, wenn ich die 1 kg #Xucker (Erythrit) Dose auffülle. So kann ich unseren durchschnittlichen Xuckerbedarf ermitteln. 🤓 Der #Workflow spuckt dann erst eine Notification mit den Infos aus und aktualisiert dann das Diagramm.
Prima, dass die beiden Apps #DataJar und #Charty eine so gute #SiriShortcuts Integration haben! 👍 -

A standout for me: A woman has seizures. So her husband built a shortcut for her phone that texts her GPS location to him, a message that says “I’m having a seizure,” and begins an audio recording for 20 minutes so they can log how long it lasts for her medical records. 🤯 #Apple #Shortcuts

Did you know that you can invoke Siri Shortcuts by scanning a QR code? The shortcut has to exist on the device on which you scan the QR code, of course. The URL you have to encode is:
shortcuts://run-shortcut?name=<insert shortcut name here>
The shortcut name can even contain spaces and they don’t have to be encoded as %20, easy peasy.
One of my use cases: Enable/Disable the guest wifi by scanning a QR code that sticks on a door.

I made my own “hints view" for Shortcuts if they're available in your current context. They show what you can say to Siri.
Apple made SiriTipView but they're a bit of an eye sore. heh.

I made an App Shortcut that takes a Trimet Stop ID in the Siri UI and then presents arrival times for that stop in the subsequent view. Works so quickly — probably a better experience than opening the app tbh!
Also, the HomePod experience for this just works! It will say the upcoming arrivals nicely since there’s no visual UI.

I think I am all set when it comes to App Shortcuts but will need to do a bit more testing for responses when using HomePod.

CW: Automations with shortcuts
Lately I've been working on a #Automation for #SiriShortcuts for the Mona app. If you just started following me, I'll explain. Recently I've been putting daily deep dives from NotebookLM from all of the stuff that I've done with it, because I think it's kind of fun. I usually just choose a file that I think that is good and then I'll put it here, no automation involved. Making an automation would be pretty good. Here's how I started it. I actually made a shortcut to test to see if it would work. I used the get contents of folder action, since there's a folder that I have that I store all of this stuff. Secondly, I added the item from list action, and made sure to customize it to random. Then I had the text action explaining a little bit about the file that it chose, lastly I used the post media action. The issue is when it runs, it wants me to select a file. I don't know why since I added both the get contents of folder and get item from list set to random. Not only that, but when I chose the file, it didn't even post it. Is there anything I need to do to change it?

My App Shortcut to open bookmarked #Trimet transit stops in PDX Transit works pretty well with HomePod too!
I still need to make the output a bit more condensed but you get the idea… since you don’t have a visual UI, Siri will read out loud the upcoming arrivals for you.
I’m going to have localizing these to Spanish. 🇪🇸🤓

I *am* indeed very excited by how well the new `Listen to Page` action appears to be working, already, especially for the #accessibility, obviously.

Does anyone else on here use wireless #Apple #CarPlay? How do you mitigate multiple family members connecting to one car? Its such a strange oversight by Apple and #SiriShortcuts doesn't have a way to connect/disconnect to specific Bluetooth devices.

oh yeah.... the very last Global Variable action is there (since you have Actions anyway, now,) in case you'd like a method of retrieving the current theme's title without disabling the automation first.

I replaced Evernote as an output destination for a couple of my Siri Shortcuts this evening. Now they output to my #Obsidian vault on iCloud Drive.
The trick to outputting a variable to the Append To File action is to convert it to a Text element beforehand.
The trick to building a filename variable of Y-m-d.md is to set a variable to the output of a Text element with the contents {CurrentDate}.md
... and now I can add text to my Obsidian Daily Notes using #SiriShortcuts and voice dictation.
