@debruine @emilynordmann
these slides are great.
Thanks for sharing these resources!
(I'm especially happy to find these since I wanted to attend to a talk about this at #SIPS2023 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qtDocponZJUQQAN3Cec63tEWO3v5gDvHjekZ-q0iolw/edit) but it was in a parallel session and I couldn't find the recording) -
I wasn't able to make it to #SIPS2023 this year (even virtually). Life got in the way (long story). So, I am living vicariously through those of you who are posting about it. I'll see if I can find a way to make #SIPS2024 a go. It all comes down to funding, and if I can find a way to meaningfully participate. I'd love to see Nairobi, and I'd love to interface with psych educators and researchers in the Global South who'll hopefully be there. Regardless, I'll make sure my passport is updated.

#SIPS2023 - and my first SIPS - is over, so it's time to go through my notes and do some reflection and recollection. I wrote most of this on the train back. Some of these notes will be quotes that stuck with me the most or insights that (I think?) I've taken away.This is going to be a longer thread, so I'm hiding most of the text behind content warnings, so it doesn't mess up your timeline (helpful advice from @doctorow), hope it works...

Should be on my way to #SIPS2023 right now, but my flight was cancelled. Twice.
Now booked onto the next available flight on Thurs at 06:25am, so I might just about make it for the first session, but gutted to lose 2/5 of the trip and miss the pre-conf socials. ☹️

In the Bergen #ReproducibiliTea meeting on Monday, Ali Teymoor presented the "Metascience is not enough" paper, followed by an interesting (almost heated!) discussion: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/10892680221083876
Reading the #SIPS2023 programme on my way to Padova, I get the impression that metascience is addressing the challenges raised in that paper: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eeyRx6oxVDWwgUYGTZKIuWVNJfqqjx3O6RTN08SulvU/edit#gid=1435057465

Sometimes I send @katiecorker pictures of me watching her talks 😂
If you haven't seen her talk about @improvingpsych for the Center for Open Science ten year anniversary event, I highly recommend it! #SIPS2023
