Mooi achterwiel op de kop getikt.
Toevallig had ik precies zo'n set liggen afkomstig van een racefiets, voorwiel past hier dus mooi bij.

A surprising, to me, benefit of riding a single speed bicycle: not having to think about changing gears means I get lost in the moment more. I just *keep on pedalling*, to paraphrase Dora in Finding Nemo. 😀
I find the ride more relaxing even when I have to work harder to get up some of the hills in Crawley.
The single speed, which I bought for little money, from a charity shop, to reduce the stress I would suffer when leaving my more expensive bikes locked up in town, is turning into my bike of choice for more rides than I would have expected.
This makes me think I should try turning the rear wheel around and try going full fixie! But maybe not as I'd probably kill myself. 😄

Annie, the only female single speeder in the race explains her reasoning for going single speed with lost voice on the race podcast: "Because I listened to a podcast last November and it sounded pretty cool" 😅
From the podcast it sounds in general like many of the participants are "pretty cooked". Huge respect for them keeping going.

New pedals day for the city bike - bit sad, because the old ones were with me for 12+ years, across various bikes, but finally broke down. But the new ones (OneUp Composites) are 💜purple💜!

I don't get out to ride nearly as much as I should and would like to but I'll keep working on it! Especially when I was gifted this rad 6-pack coozie-style holster for my top tube to use on picnic in the park days :badabing:
