Couple of #SimonStålenhag books have just arrived. I've been meaning to get the set for a while now.

I've only got about half way through "Things From The Flood", and I'm already fascinated by the lore. The vagabonds are great! One of them is featured on the book cover. Shame they've all been sent of to be demolished 😔

@Ali: I have 5 art prints from #SimonStålenhag's RedBubble shop. Two of them ("Decoy" and "Ett Bedårande Barn Av Sin Tid", the ones in the second picture) are the same ones I saw 2016 in an Norwegian bar and coworking space in #Trondheim where I first discovered his art. (The photographs are from there.) All of them are from Tales From The Loop and involve mechas. Still have to hang them up somewhere.

I especially love those with 80s VWs ("Decoy" and "Fjärrhandske") and "We've Got Bandwidth".

BTW I found out this week that the beautiful and amazing book "The Electric State" created by Simon Stalenhag, which got picked up for TV, is finally coming out on #Netflix. What I'm not crazy about is Chris Pratt is in it, in a role that's not in the book. So I'm hesitant; it sounds more action than feels. But at least Millie Bobby Brown is in it.

I'm a bit late to the party, but uhh, yeah. Electric State movie from Netflix.

It's only the trailer so far, but it's clearly depicting a world that's completely different from the Electric State world of Simon Stålenhag's art or the Free League TRPG.

People will undoubtedly discover the rule via the movie, and those people will have all sorts of wrong expectations for the rule.

@electricarchaeo it was a nice walk home in it. Very atmospheric. Construction cranes up on Carling over the hood with their lights on created a bit of a #SimonStålenhag feel.

Starting "The Labyrinth", a graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag. If it's like his earlier work, it's better described as an art book than a graphic novel. It doesn't have multi-panel pages and word ballons. It's a large format hardcover book (approx 10" square), with full-page art of single scenes (sometimes double-page spreads) with a few paragraphs of prose on the opposite page. They're moody, realistic dystopian near-future science fiction. The art is fantastic and the stories are almost mundane, laced with sadness and creepiness. They're subtle and grounded.
