Another star of our Saturday evening (7pm) Women in Silent Comedy Show is Martha Sleeper. She has an impressive filmography. She started in movies at the age of 12 (she's in a few Our Gangs) and kept on working well into the sound era.

I'm reading up on the films for our Women in Comedy weekend, and I see that Anita Garvin will be appearing twice--first on our Saturday (7pm) silent show, in A Pair of Tights, and again in Blotto (in our Sunday, 3pm, talkie show), as an intimidating Mrs Laurel.
If you went to the L&H show a few weeks ago, you saw her in Battle of the Century, as "Woman who Slips on Pie"--which sounds like a bit part, but she makes it memorable!

I was in the Castro Theater for the first time in a looong time (last time was pre-pandemic; I think for Fantasia?) yesterday, for the SF #SilentFilm festival's Amazing Tales from the Archives.
I never knew that early Danish and German cinema produced so many action movies. Lots of chases on top of moving trains :) -

This is a power supply for a 16mm projector (ours use arc lights and that takes a lot of juice). This one failed during a show a week ago (thanks to a spare, and a quick-thinking volunteer, we got things up and running again in only a few minutes).
I had a scheduled visit with my "projector sensei" in San Rafael today, and I really prefer to get there by train+bike+ferry. This thing's heavy but in a backpack it's ok. I'm not going to try carrying a projector on my back though!
Anyway, the issue was a burnt out bridge rectified, and I'm happy to say this it's fixed and on it's way home.
