Chi fosse interessato può scrivere all’AOPI (Associazione Oncologica Pisana, [email protected]).

  2. RIP to Marianne Faithfull, singer of a lovely version of Greensleeves from 1964:

It's quietly haunting and has lots of Spaghetti Western elements

This specific recording was mentioned recently in a short story in the New Yorker, by writer Sigrid Nunez, in her piece titled "Greensleeves". You can listen to her read the story as a podcast here:

  5. “It did occur to me at one point that the writers I adored – mainly dead, white, European men – wouldn’t have accepted me, a mixed-race person of a lower immigrant class, either as a woman or a writer,” she concedes. “But it never mattered to me, because I didn’t have to meet them. Only their work mattered, and it was in reading that work that I came of age as a writer myself.”

  8. #amReading #SalvationCity by #SigridNunez, of whom I already loved the novel #TheFriend.

Describing a boy's coming of age in a community of Christian freaks in the aftermath of a flu pandemic, it's a terrific and quite prescient reading, considering that was published in 2010!

I am now looking forwards to reading her last book #WhatAreYouGoingThrough!
