CW: Moments with my Whippet: serenity
Castorp is our first dog, and we failed entirely in even the most basic training. Not a problem, since by nature our Castorp is sweet and graceful and inherently polite in all his interactions with humans and fellow dogs.
The one rule that we did manage to instill is that he must not use our chairs and sofas downstairs, nor our rooms and beds upstairs. He had accepted it.
Long story short: that rule is no more.
Castorp has made one of the leather armchairs in the main room his own. He's also decided that an old blue table cloth will serve as his rightful blanket on that chair. Castorp is curled up on the chair (and the table cloth) as I type this toot. His entire posture radiates ... peace.
He's always been the quiet serene type, but now that he's found his natural place, he has found his true self, and he is serenity pure. We won't re-introduce the rulebook.
