Lost my wallet this afternoon in Sidney BC. If this were twitter-of-old, I could reasonably tag this with where I lost it ( #Sidney #SidneyBC #yyj #VictoriaBC) and hope that someone might see it and reconnect me with it. But, sadly, I don't think fediverse has quite the same level of reach. And I'm certainly not signing up to facebook or whatever to try asking there.
Hopefully someone found it and did something reasonable, like dropping it in the post.

#ParksCanada is defending the $12-million price tag for its plan to kill all the #FallowDeer on #SidneyIsland as part of an #EcologicalRestoration project.
The federal agency has been under intense #criticism for months for spending millions on a program to #eradicate fallow #deer on the 9 sq km island, a portion of which is part of the #GulfIslandsNationalParkReserve, while the rest is privately owned.
