When I was a kid, I made fun of my mom when she'd put on reading glasses. She told me, "Your time will come. You just wait."
I've had reading glasses for about 5 years now.
Your comment hits home hard. 😂

#WritingWonders Feb Day 18 — Name one taste & texture that evokes joy in your MC.
My MC lives on a techno-magical post-human Earth where most of the surface is uninhabitably hot and the population is only a few hundred million. Eating mammals poses issues with what we might term magic use. Vegetarian and insect sources serve well enough. For my MC, becoming an athlete and training to become a championship prizefighter meant a new diet with more protein.
A diet that includes food with eyes.
It took only one taste to pervert her.
Fish&Fry (that's how they write it) is whole fingerling fish, usually sardines, kippered with onions, battered and fried, smothered in a mayonnaise-like sauce chock-full with diced brine- and vinegar-pickled vegetables, the crunchier the better. Her joy eating the salty oily delight, especially hot, just made, and crispy is usually reserved by others for display between the sheets. Fish&Fry can be hard for landbound to obtain because the restaurants serving it are usually on the roofs of tall buildings, cliffs, or trees. You have to know people. Thus, she's made a new cadre of acquaintances who make great sport of seeing how much pepper sauce they can cajole her into adding and which trees she'll balk at eating in, sitting in the branches.
I am still working on aspects of this world, so I haven't decided whether to go for the joke and to have other post-humans call this angel food.
#sidenote: I write food and mealtimes into all my novellas and novels because it's one thing every reader shares with every character; it helps you relate with their humanity even if they are or prove inhuman. #Tarantino

#sidenote I have still seen #Lockbit2.0 still being used in #Ransomewhere attacks in the past couple months, so it's not fully defunct.
