Are SIB batteries really ready to serve a significant portion of the car market?

If so then the BYD should do it. People don't buy batteries, they buy cars. If a SIB battery can deliver a decent range and also lower the cost of the car to make it more attractive, then people will buy them.

@brembs @resdatall True, and that's another reason to become more independet from US-based ressources. We have good starting points at #SIB and #EMBL-EBI but European funding bodies need to get used to support data repositories on a long term.

@zkutalik Torsten Schwede #SIB @unibasel presents himself as one of the few "dinosaurs" who remembers first #BC2basel conference 20 years ago. First conference had theme "LIfe science meets IT", moved towards more biology over the years. #ECCB2012 was done as a #BC2basel, first conference with an app and excellent catering.
I have very fond memories of Torsten's outstanding organisation of conferences over the years.
