B-Movie Enema's original "magnum opus" - Showgirls. This is one of those movies that I think is so bad it's good. It's certainly gained a cult following in the years since 1995 and has found a very specific niche in the LGBTQ+ community which I find very nice.

Not sure if it’s the state of modern sexless blockbusters, or that I’ve aged into the target demographic but I just finished #BasicInstinct (which I used to think was dumb as shit) and found it stately, elegant and completely engaging. I wasn’t film savvy enough to pick up the numerous Vertigo, All About Eve and Dressed to Kill references the first time around. I also feel like Decision to Leave owed a lot to this. Does this mean I have to try #ShowGirls again?

@SaltiredPopcorn My Gen-Z-ers insisted on watching #showgirls last night. My wife and I fondly recall laughing our heads off at it when we saw it at a movie theatre in LA. The whole audience began to laugh after a while. It was a fun & fascinating movie experience.
I've seen bits & pieces since then but never sat down to watch it.
It's seriously awful. My kids loved that about it. It was a fantastic Mystery Science Theater 3000 experience. Having been part of a cinematic fiasco myself (I wrote & produced a monstrosity called "Bordello Of Blood"), I understand on a very organic level how/why this happens.
