So…a couple of days ago, a friend told me he found a video of my old band Shovel online. Circa 1996.
It reminded me that we recorded a two-song demo that I have on a cassette. Just a blank tape from the studio master.
So I remastered it and published it on Bandcamp (for free). Check it out if you want. (I know. It’s not metal. Hush.)

Mount driveway is getting a little high for throwing snow over and I've already pushed the top backwards a few times. But now those layers are frozen hard and don't move anymore.

I see a lot of ppl using #snow melt on #concrete stairs and driveways bc u don’t want to #shovel snow.
Both magnesium & sodium chloride (salt) WILL DETERIORATE CONCRETEIs it worth having to pay $4-10k to replace yr concrete stairs & driveway?
Better to have a heated system or get the exercise removing the snow.

My wife decided that the garage should be used for the car this winter instead of its normal detached storage unit configuration.
But, still insists I shovel the entire driveway, which I presume is so that the ambulance has somewhere to park when I eventually have a heart attack from shoveling said driveway :)

Yup, it's a workout all right. We must have gotten on the low end of the estimate for amount of snow, because it's wasn't *too* bad. I was out with the snowblower for 1:40 this morning, and I'll go back and do a real clean/scrape with a shovel later this afternoon.
We've been pretty fortunate so far this year. I've shovelled a number of times, but this was the first time I needed to get out the snowblower this season.

Transitions
My glasses have those transitions lenses. You know, they tint themselves in bright light so they act as sunglasses when needed. When the light is dimmer the lenses un-tint themselves.
Yesterday we got an inch or two of snow. Not much, but enough to need to clean it up. I did a lot of it yesterday when I went out to the store. It snowed enough afterwards that everything was covered again. I went out and shoveled it all this morning, including the path to the side of the house where we keep the trash barrels and in front of the fire hydrant that’s on the end of our property. I also put some ice melt down on the driveway. We’re good to go. Our personal snow removal is complete.
If you’ve ever been outside after a fresh snowfall you know that it is super bright. If the sun is out, it reflects off the snow and everything around you is super bright. The transitions lenses come in handy on days like this.
I’ve been back inside for 15 minutes now and the lenses have yet to un-tint themselves. It’s like I am walking around at midnight with all the lights off.
