I have this weird tendency, when I come up with a solution to a problem that I don't need to solve yet; I still implement it (for practice, and as a useful distraction) then set it aside.

As these "unneeded solutions" begin to pile up, and I need to reduce the overall codebase for maintenance and whatnot, these are some of the first things that get cut; after all, if I didn't get around to the problem they were written to solve, I must not need them.

One effect is that I will sometimes create multiple, archived implementations of the same solution (unintentionally), as i lose track of older "pruned" branches and reinvent, or re-reinvent solutions to the same problem that I *still* don't need to address. Yet.

I had a customer purchase a new wheel, then realize the dropouts on their 1972 Schwinn Varsity were too small for a modern 3/8" axle. I got to save the day by cold setting their dropouts using a seat post as a lever. The customer was not suitably impressed so I'm gonna need lots of internet points for thinking of this. K'thanks.
