Photo was Sunday. Today, Tuesday, both these bike parking racks at Trader Joe's in downtown Monterey were heavily used, as is common. We remember what it was like in 2012, when we met four women from Toronto, Canada there, along with Daniel Hopp of Germany and an Austrian bike-touring coupleโall looking for bike parking. https://bikemonterey.org/crowded-trader-joes-parking-not-anymore.html

This Monterey County resident graciously waited for us to snap a photo before she hustled on to continue to her next destination. We met her while she was shopping by bike today.
We referred her to the Bicycling Monterey site, which includes riding skills, bike laws, and safety tips (including some in Spanish) https://bikemonterey.org/resources/resources-on-riding-skills-bike-laws-and-safety; California bike law summaries https://bikemonterey.org/wp-content/uploads/Leyes-de-ciclismo-de-CA-Laws-for-bicyclists-in-CA-Spanish-English-Summary-2.pdf; additional cycling-related resources in Spanish https://bikemonterey.org/resources/en-espanol; e-bike safety and training tips https://bikemonterey.org/e-bike-safety-and-training.html; shopping by bike tips https://bikemonterey.org/tips-for-tourists/unique-attractions; and much more.

Love doing my shopping by bike. Loading up and cruising home at my own speed. Reminds me of summer touring. Also: no parking problems thanks to Roche Bros quality #bike parking. Included apples, oranges potatoes, 6L wine, zucchini, asparagus, celery, garlic, 2 boxes of BellaVita, some sole, bell peppers, lettuce x2, endives, Fruitโnโnut chocolate. You get the idea. #biketooter #boston #shoppingbybike
