Finished my shoelaces. 25 ends 10/2 mercerised cotton woven on my Lojan inkleloom. They are around 6.5mm wide.

Ugh, everything is falling apart and now apparently we don't tie our shoelaces correctly? Here's a story from @Gizmodo about the Berlutti knot and Ian's Secure Shoelace Knot, which are apparently far less likely to come undone than conventional ones.

They're round-ish, available in black and white and both have thin reflective strands woven in, i.e. they don't reflect in all parts, but are reflective from every angle.
I previously had flat orange ones with just a narrow reflective band glued onto only one side. They didn't last long and the reflective part even less longer.

I haven't purchased or worn #shoes with #laces since at least 2012 (other than my hiking boots)... in that time, I have put shoes on my feet roughly 250 times a year, about 3000 shoe-donning events... it takes me 4 seconds to put on my laceless shoes, and today I tried on a pair of laced shoes and it took at least 14 seconds to tie them both... therefore, I believe I have saved 8 hours and 20 minutes of my life by not tying shoes...

To my fellow #runners: I have no clue if this is just placebo, but a friend of mine told me how to tie #shoelaces so that they won't untie during a run in a way that does not require an extra knot. The trick is in making the "hug loop" backwards.
