Ordered some 110 film for a #ToyCamera I haven't used since the 1990s.

The joy of a thermal printing camera.
I do not often make gear recommendations to other photographers, but today I will.
If you are an even half-way skilled photographer, go out and get yourself a kiddies thermal printing camera. And a bunch of thermal printer rolls of paper. You'll set yourself back about AUD50.
Don't bother getting a microSD card for it. That's not the point.
The point is the immense freedom and creative challenges that working with a fixed aperture, fixed focus plastic lens that will then print out on a short-lived high-contrast paper will bring.
And it is a freedom being so highly restricted.
It is also freeing to be able to shoot with abandon, not worrying about any sort of post-processing, and not worrying about the cost of the shot.
Think of the joys of pinhole photography, but with the instant gratification of Polaroid, and the costs of digital. The only thing you have control over is your composition.
This ties in very strongly with the Shitty Camera Challenge, but there is a joy in being able to shoot without consequence. You do not ever have to show these to another person (although you might).

Here's the #ShittyCamera I'm going to do #ShittyCameraChallenge with.
It's a Zorki 6 made in the USSR some time between 1959 and 1966, with a 50mm Industar-26 lens.
The body finish was replaced by whoever sold it to me with corkboard, which I always intended to lacquer but never got around to.
I'm not sure I've ever run a roll through it, but I'll aim for one per week through December.
This thing is much heavier than it looks.

At last an image from the 1.3MP Sony Mavica FD85 . Took me ages to find my old floppy drive (nothing is lost.Just hiding).
Here's a pic of a picture frame feat. our much missed cat giving us the look of usual max contempt and the legend "the difference between cats and dogs is that dogs come when called and cats take a message and get back to you".
The image in this frame was originally take on a Kodak 1.3MP DC240.

This is a home-brew with a plastic 38mm f/1(ish) lens from VR goggles, made of cardboard, with a wax-paper viewfinder, and a manual shutter. Total cost is approximately 20c - mostly the lens.
This camera is specifically built to shoot on A7 #Cyanotype paper, and has a typical exposure time of 30-45 minutes.
The subject in this case is a #GoSunFusion #SolarBBQ, and a non-shitty image of it is also provided for comparison purposes.

Ok, it's official: I am in love with my Polaroid camera. It is the worst piece of crap I've ever owned... but somehow it manages to surprise me nearly every time with overexposed images that have that certain je ne sais quoi... which is mutual because clearly the camera doesn't know what it's doing either.
@SutroTower, this one's for you. It was taken today - a perfectly sunny day - although you wouldn't know that from the way this picture turned out.

art exists in a weird dynamic for me. it feels trivial and insignificant when the world is on fire and being taken over by literal nazis, but it's necessary for my mental health
this camera is a #VintageCamera #Diana #DianaF, not a #Lomography clone. i have nothing against the clones (I have a #Lomo #PinholeCamera) but they tend to be a little less #shitty than the original
