Es un periodista y escritor que acuñó, entre otras, la idea de la #mierdificación (#shitification), el proceso por el que toda plataforma digital, por codicia, acaba reduciendo la utilidad real que pueden obtener sus usuarios de ellas. Sus charlas son reveladoras y divertidas.

All your mail would be opened, read, copied, sold (and one copy forwarded to the government) for ads and then finally arrive at your door with a note in the corner "I see you just bought a dog! Here are 3573 products for dogs we just KNOW you'll love"
Instead some 300 years ago the Crown decided to make it a capital offense to open anyone's elses mail. Were they not thinking about the ad revenue?

Anyone who remembers dragon speech from the 1990's will know that AI isn't going to deliver. In fact I'd argue since around 2006 the internet has been degrading, where once we shunned adverts, laughed at slow overburdened websites and swore we'd never give in to corporate greed.
We now sign up to closed systems, enjoy the advertising and are used to doing things Thier way. Not because it's good, well designed or even moderated.

Because we inherited them, we're unfortunate Boeing stockholders. It's only about 7 shares I think, but still, I've been complaining about the way the company is run for years now. I knew the company was in for a fall, but I never dreamed how bad it would get. They need to set up a guillotine for everyone in the C suite. Don't care about our money. Want the Boeing back that was a great, American, ENGINEERING company!

Lot’s to like in that ad. The fridge we had in my youth from that era was certainly not so delightfully designed although it did last a long time. My overriding memories are an ice box always covered in snowy ice and a magical mechanical internal light switch.
What surprises me though is the extent Apple’s success is a counter to a lot of the arguments here.
In my opinion their products are relatively well built and hence relatively long lasting, at least some components are selected with sustainability in mind and generally innovative they still continue to sell in large numbers and despite a substantial price premium. (I suspect this model fridge did not sell in large numbers tho).Perhaps that is a model for electrical appliance manufacturers to follow? I think that Apple does show that, when given the option, consumers will pay a premium in part to avoid #shitification .
