Okay, hear me out...
With the corporations like Meta, Threads, Amazon, Xitter (the Shirtbird site, i.e. Twitter), etc. crapping all over the LGBTQ+ folks, scrapping their DEI programs, allowing hate on their platforms, I'm forced to come to this conclusion:
Whatever programs they previously had were not based on honest beliefs. They were just going through the motions because they believed that it made money. Thus, they were virtue signaling for the sake of money.
I sure plan to remember this, when the wind shifts again, and they decide that reinstating some of those programs is in their best interest.

Maybe you have a good reason to still have a Twitter account. Okay. Don't talk about it in your dating profile as if it were a plus.
The only appropriate way to talk about a Twitter account these days is to do it sheepishly, with your eyes downcast, and in hushed tones, very much aware of the shame it implies.
Yeah, that profile was rejected immediately. I've already dated a queer Republican. I'm not looking for a repeat.
(No, I did not know initially that she was a Republican. She revealed that months into our relationship. :headache: )

People calling themselves "journalists" are wrestling with a pig (the Shitbird site), they are getting dirty, and the pig is enjoying it.
I've read the article below, and what I take out of it is that the vast majority of journalism is bread and circuses. As bread and circuses, they are quite happy to stay on the Shitbird site, because what they peddle is entertainment and not actually journalism.
It is really not *hard* to have a *real* presence in the Fediverse. If a news outlet or a journalist has no presence in the Fediverse, that is because THEY DO NOT CARE to be here.
Nothing else.
But if what they peddle is bread and circuses, maybe they should stay there.
