It was introduced in the 1938 film #TheBigBroadcastOf1938 by #BobHope and #ShirleyRoss, and recorded by #ShepFieldsAndHisOrchestra featuring #JohnSerrySr on accordion in the film and vocals by Bob Goday on #BluebirdRecords (B-7318, 1937). #DorothyLamour's solo recording of the song was also popular.
