Reading re many people catching #Covid seemingly at the recent #Eastercon is making me more doubtful my husband and I can go to #Worldcon in #Glasgow in 2024. I'm severely #immunosuppressed, huge risk for Covid. We've been #shielding for most of 3 years to protect me. Not caught yet. We'd wear #masks but if too many other people don't and are infectious the risk of us catching is too high. With my medical situation it could kill me. We are both paid up attending members (reduced Scottish rate).

Hey, so... I am having honestly just a really shitty emotions week, so I posted my wishlist on Twitter in case anyone wanted to make my super isolated Christmas just a wee bit better. I figured I'd cross post here even thou I don't know as many ppl! 🫣
It's really so sad that this year I can't even eat christmas dinner cos my diet is so restricted rn!!! 😔 It feels like each year this just gets to be a harder & harder day!

I’m ok not socialising, we’re used to it now and we’re #introverts But what about family members who thrive on socialising?
Can you ask them not to socialise if they’re in their late teens or 20’s? When life ‘is’ socialising? 😭
But their socialising could cost me my life?

I'm a widow with no children having opted not to risk my late husband passing on his mutated ‘huntingtin’ gene. Sadly his sister's children both inherited hers 💔
I've traced the gene across 5 generations with confirmed diagnoses and circumstantial evidence going back to William 1777-1854 as earliest source so far!
