Finally got around to watching #ShazamFuryOfTheGods. Real fun movie. Surprised it didn't do better at the box office.

La película me gustó; tiene acción, diversión y mucho corazón. Debo decir que después del tercer acto de la película, cuando todo termina, casi que lloro pero solo se me pusieron los ojos vidriosos como se dice. No sé si es mejor que la primera, es diferente pero con la misma escencia. Para ser una secuela, está muy bien.
Muy buenos efectos especiales, y la trama en sí cumple muy bien aunque le daría algo más de chispa. Recomiendo ver la película. -

Fun fact; in post production on #ShazamFuryOfTheGods we got Wolf Blitzer to play the news reporter on TV, but it was shot as a CNN+ show and before we’d even finished post production CNN+ had already been cancelled. So we had to redo it. I liked the performance better in the first version though so #vfx changed the studio background on the original footage. #FilmMaking

A drawing I did for my thank you note at the wrap of #ShazamFuryOfTheGods. If we weren’t waiting for rain/thunder to stop we were waiting for clouds to go in front of the sun so we wouldn’t have harsh sunlight. One scene we shot with a loud train in the background because we didn’t want to wait and then later we were waiting for clouds again and I could hear the sound guys saying “oh, CLOUDS we can wait for…”. But to be fair it’s much easier to ADR dialog than remove sun in post. #FilmMaking

Lucy riding the dragon was done with a robot arm with programmed motions. The reason the staff here doesn’t have a top is that the light up staff was too heavy and big (because of all the electronics etc). It was fine in the first film when Djimon was the only one handling it but for the sisters we often needed something with a lighter material and no electronics.

In a #ShazamFuryOfTheGods deleted scene Hespera made a gun heat up until it glowed. Props made a really cool fake gun with lights in it that looked like it was glowing hot. Eventually it was going to be augmented with #vfx but it looked really good as is.

#ShazamFuryOfTheGods opened at Number 1 at the US box office this weekend with a disappointing $30.5 million and an additional $35 million from international markets. The international disappointment comes from the film barely registering in China, but why did it score $20 million less in the US than the first one? Is this a sign of fan backlash to the turmoil and regime change at DC Films? Is this a bad omen for #TheFlash and the new vision of DC from James Gunn? Time will tell.
