#sharkmovies — Public Fediverse posts

Watched Thrash (2026) last night & at the beginning they showed the small town's statue of a 19th-century military officer on horseback with their sword held forward & I thought: "I know what's gonna happen with that sword. I've seen Hard Rain!"

Why Are We Still So Obsessed With Shark Attack Movies?

https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://www.fangoria.com/shark-attack-movies/

We recently signed up for the free "Tubi" and I am amazed by the plethora of psychotronic films they offer. Its insane collection of Amityville movies is rivaled only by its Shark section, which includes gems such as "Sharkenstein" and "Sharkula." Bravo TUBI! #tubi #streaming #streamingtv #streamingrelevision #television #horror #terror #horrorfilms #horromovies #amityville #amityvilleschlock #schlock #schlockhorror #sharkmovies #shark #sharkweek #sharkattack #ghosts #ghost #karen #karens

Anyone know of any shark movies from Hong Kong, 1970-2000? Having trouble believing that even after Jaws, they didn't make at least one shark film

THRASH Cast Reveals The Hilarious Reality Behind Shooting Their New Shark Horror Movie

https://web.brid.gy/r/https://www.fangoria.com/thrash-cast-interview-hilarious-reality-behind-new-shark-horror-movie/

I watched that #Netflix shark movie tonight, Thrash. As shark movies go, it was solidly middling. I'd give it two fins out of five.

One actor was supposed to have a Southern accent, but it kept breaking and something else kept peaking through, kind of British yet not? Turns out he's an Aussie, and I guess they put the money into shark effects instead of a dialect coach. 😅

If you aren't as devoted to Djimon Hounsou and natural disasters on film as I am, you can feel free to skip this one.

The shallows. Actually a good shark movie. About a surfer stranded be on a rock with high tide. Realistic gore and suspense and survival skills. 5/5  #movies #sharkmovies

Looking back I also forgot "Shark Side of the Moon". I wouldn't characterize it as a shark movie because it is about mutant sharks on the moon. Half shark half man/women. Despite the "sexy" shark lady, bad russian accents and so many repeated shots, I would not recommend it. 0/5  #movies #SharkMovies

Also we watched "Planet of the Sharks" and... I forgot the name of the other one. Both asylum/scify movies so you know what you get. They both were waterworld ripoffs with... everything bad. 0/5  #movies #SharkMovies

We watched "Bait (2012)" recently. A australian movie about a shark in a super market. The movie was surprisingly not that bad.... for a shark movie. Standout feature was a guy under water covered in shopping trolleys and the shark "realistically" just bumped into it and did not go into a frenzy.
Otherwise the concept was pretty stupid and the acting and characters quite bad. 3/5  (unscientific rating) #shark #SharkMovies

Why is there a subgenre of party+shark movies? #sharkmovies
