Ist äußerst selten passiert, dass sich bekannte Filmkritiker wie Roger Ebert und Zeitungen wie die FAZ im letzten Jahrhundert mit einem Anime beschäftigt und ihn als "wertvoll" rezensiert haben.
Der Anime-Film heißt "Die letzten Glühwürmchen" (1988) und handelt vom Überleben von Kindern ohne ihre Eltern in Japan 1945.
Er basiert auf der teilweise autobiografischen Kurzgeschichte „Das Grab der Leuchtkäfer“ (1967) von Akiyuki Nosaka, dessen Schwester im Zweiten Weltkrieg verhungerte.
Vor dem Hintergrund wirkt die Einstufung der FSK wieder mal nach:
"Zeichentrickfilm? Ach, für Kinder => FSK: 6"
In den Rezensionen von Online-Händlern wird oft darauf hingewiesen, dass der Film nicht für Kinder geeignet sei.

Fun fact:
Angel Beats! is one of the few anime I watch in German for nostalgia 👀The dub is not bad, especially if you take into regard that the anime is almost 14 years old, by now.

I've just watched the alternate epilogue and while I still believe that the original one is better, I like the idea of it and it would've been a great starting point for a second season, imo.

I can't recall, if I've watched the second OVA of Angel Beats!, in the past, but watching Iwasawa fall into so many holes in a row, without questioning why, and continuing to ramble on about how she got into music and what inspired her was quite funny and kind of a mood, ngl.
