This doesn’t feel like it should be *this* hard. Seeing things like #LiveBlocks & the plethora of other JS Frameworks, kinda makes Apple’s stuff look lackluster.

Sure we have #Shareplay, but it’s still not fully featured. (Read: persistent sessions)

One route is something like Boutique for local storage, CoreData for sync (CKSyncEngine?), & SharePlay for real-time. It just seems so convoluted, though. 🤔

Tried to use Apple’s #SharePlay for the first time last night. Wanted to watch a movie with my bro.

First attempt: I bought The Creator to watch. SharePlay failed because both parties have to own it.

Second attempt: we both have Apple TV+, so we try a movie on there. Fails because it says both parties must be in the same region.

What possible reason do we need to be in the same region? We both own the content. What more do they want?

PSA: #AppleMusic #SharePlay via #CarPlay is not available if with a kid under 13. iPhone to iPhone Music SharePlay without CarPlay doesn’t have such a restriction.

Why? I don’t know.

Is #Shareplay a pipedream? It's been over a month since the announcement of them proclaiming we were "mere weeks" away and activity on the #Discord server has dropped noticeably. Is Shareplay going to make it?

If you’re having trouble getting #carplay #shareplay to work in iOS17 (in that the SharePlay icon simply doesn’t appear in music) and you use Bluetooth, make sure that the car Bluetooth connection is the type “Car Stereo” and not anything else.

I appreciate this post is meant for an audience of 1.

@pojntfx #SharePlay can be used by pretty much any one. It's not tied to a streaming service. Its just up to the developer, to incorporate the api.

Does anybody know if there are any live TV services that support #Apple #SharePlay?

Y, al igual que ha pasado con las gafas, muchas de las piezas que IMHO formarán parte de esto están ya visibles y usables. Lo que no han presentado es el "todo".

- La primera versión del modo standby, ya en #iOS. Y en iPadOS la pantalla de bloqueo adaptada.
- Center Stage en la cámara frontal de algunos #iPad.
- Las mejoras en #SharePlay. Puedo imaginarme un uso comunal.
- En #tvOS, uso de múltiples usuarios a la vez.
- Por supuesto, el reconocimiento de voz y activación de #Siri sin tocar.

We just sent out a #TestFlight update to #Lysten. It bumps the deployment target to iOS 17 and adds the use of the new Subscription-view made by Apple, and the new ShareLink API’s.

This means that once “bump to transfer” is enabled, it should hopefully just work to transfer content or initiate a #SharePlay session.

I’m looking into adding #SiriKit #Intents to #Lysten. Makes it possible to ask #Siri things like “Play a podcast episode in Lysten”. Last week I added #SharePlay support, pretty cool to lysten to podcasts with friends and family.
