Good suggestions! Today I learned, and followed both #GoodNews and #ShareGoodNewsToo hashtags.
Think I'll keep using the #CounterTheDoomscroll hashtag too, as it communicates more of the intent on why it is important to share good news.
As you say, good news is subjective. The advantage of the hashtag follow is that everyone gets to decide for themself whether they agree, and boost. Whereas acting as "good news provider" might see you at odds with (overly) critical fedizens who blame you for not 100% aligning with their worldviews and ideologies. Progressive circles are quite divisive that way (I sometimes say that posting on fedi can be like "walking on eggshells through a minefield", and when it blows we are all-too-eager to "divide ourselves to be conquered).
Fediverse ideally becomes representative for what it means to live in a "harmonious society" where we have much in common and shared principles and values, but also respect that each person is uniquely different.

Agreed, this is a real problem. It does help to follow hashtags such as #GoodNews and #ShareGoodNewsToo and perhaps someone could curate a Mastodon Collection with accounts focussed on good news or positivity.
We have been toying with adding a Good News channel to our existing channels. It does require some thought, though, especially around the definition of "good news". It's quite subjective so it would need to focus on things over 90% of people would consider good news.
