"Sir Grant #Shapps resigned as chairman of Cambridge Aerospace on 30 April "to simplify matters" and after the firm secured a multimillion-pound government missile contract.
He said he had had no involvement in the deal or the company's military work and, despite a title of "chairman", had not chaired its board or been a director, but was "one of several co-founders".

British defence minister Grant #Shapps accused #China on Wednesday of providing or preparing to provide #Russia with lethal aid for use in its war against #Ukraine.
Shapps told a conference in London that #US and British defence intelligence had evidence that "lethal aid is now, or will be, flowing from China to Russia and into Ukraine, I think it is a significant development".

Russia is believed to have jammed the satellite signal on an RAF aircraft carrying British Defence Secretary #Grant #Shapps back from Poland, according to government sources.
Defence sources said there was no danger to Shapps, who was travelling back to the UK, though they called it a “wildly irresponsible” act of #electronic #warfare.
It is understood that the #GPS signal was interfered with for about 30 minutes while the plane flew close to Russia’s Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad.
#Mobile #phones could no longer connect to the internet and the aircraft was forced to use alternative methods to determine its location, the source said.

#Shapps said on the Trevor Phillips show that the REASON more people were arrested on the right-wing counter demonstration was due to the fact MORE police officers were called away from the Pro-Palestine march. The implication is that if there was no counter demonstration, 100s of people WOULD have been arrested at the #Palestine march.
