"Autechre Guitar" is out now. An album of #Autechre songs performed entirely on solo acoustic guitar. I'm not hugely familiar with the original works, but #ShaneParish's renditions are great! https://shaneparish.bandcamp.com/album/autechre-guitar-2

#Autechre Guitar by #ShaneParish
"This record shouldn’t, strictly speaking, be possible at all.
It’s not just that Autechre’s music is electronic and Shane Parish’s is acoustic. It’s not just that Autechre come from electro and techno, while Shane’s solo guitar music is rooted in jazz, folk, and the blues. Those borders, between mediums and genres, are as porous as you want them to be..."

Out February 27 - Shane Parish “Autechre Guitar” LP / CD from Palilalia.

Experimental guitarist Shane Parish returns with an album comprised of interpretations of Autechre songs!

The material on Autechre Guitar is drawn entirely from the 1990s—specifically, from the albums Incunabula, Amber, Tri Repetae , and LP5.

On his new solo album, Shane Parish performs the music of Autechre on acoustic guitar. I really like his rendition of "Eggshell". https://shaneparish.bandcamp.com/album/autechre-guitar-2 #BandcampFriday #Autechre #ShaneParish

#NowPlaying From last Sunday, #ShaneParish live, in-studio performance and interview on #KDVS, the college radio station at UC Davis. https://www.mixcloud.com/bfaulkne67/nothing-exceeds-like-excess-2-9-2025-with-shane-parish-bill-orcutt/

#NowPlaying Acoustic guitar version of Slip by #Autechre from their 1994 album “Amber” played by #ShaneParish. This main riff is a 29 beat cycle over a 4/4 beat. So the beat “slips” when the accent shifts and the melody seems like it never repeats.

#Upcoming After honing their sound all year on tour, in this live recording, guitar quartet #AvaMendoza, #WendyEisenberg, #ShaneParish, and @billorcutt demonstrate their “joyous ease” navigating compositions of “jaggedly spiraling right angles”. Available via #Palilalia, March 22nd. https://billorcutt.bandcamp.com/album/four-guitars-live

Spent my last full dollar on Shane Parish's new single, "Turn Around Bright Eyes," which was also included on the album, You Better Mind: Southeastern Songs to Stop Cop City.
