There's an ad on TV for Plantur DMG shampoo that seems to say "91% of 30 women agreed." But you can't get 91% out of 30 without asking some weird fraction of a woman! 27 out of 30 would be 90%, and each additional woman is 3.33%. The small print mentions a control group, but I still can't see how these numbers make sense even for a tiny study intended to slap "90% agree!" on a product. "Harpell emphasizes that personal care products are simple to make and free from the chemicals found in most store-bought products. During the workshop, participants will learn to make an all-natural lotion and facial cleanser using ingredients that are safe enough to consume. Attendees will take home their creations and receive instructions for making #LipBalm, #shampoo, hair rinse, and more.

"Harpell’s interest in skin care products originated from her research as a clinical herbalist. She encountered persistent, chronic conditions that resisted treatment from both modern and alternative medicine. This experience led her to advocate that the ingredients applied to the skin are just as important to consider as those put into the body. Harpell encourages participants to embrace this knowledge and host personal care product-making parties at home.
