  1. I’m not sure how much sympathy I have for #ShamimaBegum but I do find this case to be borderline disgraceful and opposite to how a democratic society should work. #Shamima here is guilty until proven innocent. In a decision made by one person who is not even a legal judge. With no way to remedy her life.

She should have been judged in a court of law based on crimes and evidence. If proven guilty then, by all means, deliver punishment.

  2. @therightarticle Messaging people you think may be refugees because they speak a certain language in a foreign country, with a message that basically says don’t be a refugee,is akin to where you message poor, desperate peeps just to tell them they brought it on themselves. If a foreign org sent messages to UK people to coerce the vulnerable into certain behaviours would there a be an outcry?- its not clear any more, there appears to be no protection for the vulnerable only blame. #Shamima

  3. #Shamima #Begum’s legal case based on the notion she was the victim of trafficking does not yield results. This case somewhat angers me: her support for ISIS was undoubtedly wrong, but losing UK citizenship is not just. She should have been allowed to return and then face the consequences of the law. Removing citizenship like that on a whim is not how we should be running democracies.

  4. An absolutely appalling decision that means any Brit who can (or can be thought able) to claim another nationality can have their British citizenship revoked on the whim of a politician.
I hope she appeals this to the Supreme Court and further if needed for all our sakes.
