I'm on conversational terms with one of the managers at our local grocery store. We talked a little while our groceries were being rung up.
They told me that with all the SNAP stops and holds going on, their sales numbers in the last couple of weeks are down 30%.
So while billionaires and con-men lecture me about how the 'welfare' system is broken and being abused, some folks right here are going hungry.
I am disgusted and ashamed of us today. 😔
