#ShadowCat released a mouse inside the house a few hours ago. It just wandered into my office. Sigh.

Today's usual garden birdsong has been replaced by screaming myna birds perched at the top of the kowhai. They chased #ShadowCat home from the neighbour's lawn and are relentless in their fury. For his part, ShadowCat is now pretending to sleep, but his ears are all a-wiggle.
Every now and then, a tūī swoops in to see the mynas off, but they return within moments to continue their violent and vocal protest. -

Back from a long and unintended break! A month ago, my laptop hard drive died sometime between leaving home and arriving in the UK for #WorldFantasyCon. So I carried a deadweight around for the entire trip. When I got back, it took another almost 2 weeks to find someone to assess and repair the damage. This morning, my fully functioning Dell was returned to me and I'm delighted to report that almost nothing was lost in the process!
#ShadowCat is, of course, thrilled to bits! -

#ShadowCat has decided that there's no point in getting out of bed on these grey and dismal mornings. Yesterday, he emerged at 3pm demanding his breakfast. Today, it's 2pm and he remains curled in a tight ball of denial.

Things have changed in my office, and #ShadowCat isn't happy about it!
I've put up new bookshelves and moved the books out of the wardrobe. The doors of the wardrobe are now shut, which is an affront to any self-respecting cat who must-get-in-there-right-now!

The battle for possession of the office chair rages on. At almost 7kg, #ShadowCat is a hefty, violent, and persistent combatant. So far today, he's bitten my arm when I moved too much, kicked me in the boob when I tried to rearrange him, and refused all my attempts to move him somewhere more comfortable for us both! The moment I stand up, he leaps into my place and curls up tight, then turns into a cooked noodle when I try to lift him. There are no winners, and the battle will continue tomorrow.

Poor #ShadowCat. Every time I treat him for fleas and worms the product makes him vomit. I only use the short-term stuff, because the long lasting treatment does a real number on him. I treat him only when I start to get flea bites - which I have a slight allergy to. So today, we're both suffering. I've got super-itchy red welts on my arms (and he just threw up on the kitchen floor. Good times!

Started out strong today with my monthly massage to keep my stupid back in order. Came home and did some editing on a short story, then added an extra stanza to a poem I'm working on. Booked the cat into the cattery for my trips away later in the year, then applied for my UK ETA, which took a bit of faffing about, but I successfully achieved. Contemplated planning out a new longer fiction, but I've hit the wall.
Might be time to lie down with a book and snuggle with #ShadowCat

Now for something slightly different: a Medium/Light Star for the Clan Blood Spirit, Alpha Galaxy. The Star consists of a #Stormcrow, #ShadowCat, #IceFerret, #KitFox and a #MistLynx.
Last evening I had time for the first run with Vallejo Sandy Yellow and a few red bits using Vallejo RLM23. I imagine that greenish-blue canopies should stand out well, no? 🤔
I chose this scheme primarily because they aren't grey nor black to get more variety in my paintings 😅
