This has also made me absolutely certain that I've been #shadowbanned on exTwitter. I posted a similar notice there, and while here it has got 5 Favourites and 6 Boosts after 8 hours, over there it has had minimal interaction.
After being up for 10 hours, it had 26 impressions and 2 likes out of something over 1250 nominal followers.
A similar post on exTwitter, also asking for contact with people interested in discussing #books etc., posted by someone with a little over 500 followers (and not blue-ticked) had, after 10 hours, over 14000 views, 121 comments, 503 likes and 30 retweets.
That is pretty conclusive evidence for shadowbanning, to me at least.

Excellent, I've been shadow banned from commenting on YouTube. Yet another social network that's undergone #enshittification , along with #xitter, #linkedin, #instagram, etc.
I'm even paying #YouTube for premium every month to avoid the ads and the fuckers shadow ban my comments, FFS.

#Twitter just #shadowbanned my PhD advisor Michael L. Nelson. He was covering how the wife of the US Speaker of the House had an anti-#LBTQ+ website and just took it down, but it’s still in #webarchives. Due to the #shadowban, we can view the tweets by URL, but cannot view the whole thread. He’s asked us to #retweet him in hopes of: (1) getting the word out about the shadowban, and (2) overcoming the shadowban (unlikely).

Made a #topless #genderEquality #meme based on a rant with a friend. It really drives me up the wall that the ONLY place I can post NONSEXUAL female #nipples are places that allow "full body sexually explicit #nudity " like #sexWorker sites (no hate to sex workers, it's just infuriating that in the eyes of American culture, "female nipples" = "full body nudity" = "sexually explicit"), alternative platforms like #mastodon / #fediverse that I jokingly say "no one uses" (except, you know, the legions of infosec nerds who would much rather be talking about ruby-python-activitypub-compsci-whatever-other-programmer-type-terms than the crazy radical notion that "female-looking nipples" should be allowed anywhere "male-looking nipples" are ;p)
and "anything goes" " #freespeech " platforms where you're sharing space with nazis, conspiracy theorists, and other such deplorables (:Please feel free to download this and post it to your own #socialMedia apps! I have NO interest in having my every day whatever-posts on my main #fediverse accounts opened up to the exclusively #meta #threads users (I've hated #facebook for way longer than it's been en vogue)
But I would b free curious to see some smaller servers opened with the INTENT of posts being open to threads, to try to encourage basic users to see the kinds of (non-nazi) content by limiting themselves to meta's platforms. Specifically, figure out how to let them know my #freethenipple videos exist, beyond putting up super-pre- #censored posts on existing centralized platforms that go "if you're curious about this video, type in this link* to see it uncensored on my #peertube account!" that will just get #banned and #shadowbanned anyway (see https://www.toplesstopics.org/banned for hundreds of screenshots of proof)
*I have to break the hyperlinks to my own website, aka" go to toplesstopics(dot)org to see my videos" rather than "go to toplesstopics.org" or #YouTube will hit me with yet another strike for "linking to porn"... On my own website... Merely for having "female looking nipples" visible in my topic-based vlogs and interviews. Hence the whole need to highlight the hypocrisy of gender-based censorship, aka #toplessEqualityBut back to meta/threads/etc, is that even possible? I'm one of the ten people on mastodon who joined before the November Twitter exodus who isn't a programmer (lol) so I barely understand what "activitypub" etc means, but until something like a server that allows all nipples, not just male nipples, to be visible-but NOT porn, which is currently my only option for posting my content outside of mastodon, where more than ten people might find it--gets specifically defederated by meta, is there a chance threads users might stumble onto, or dare I even hope, SHARE a post about one of my videos to other threads users?
I mean, I don't have the resources or knowledge to start my own instance, and I would much rather the instances I'm already on not federate with meta so that all my past posts suddenly become viewable to those who refuse to try out non-Facebook platforms. But a new instance that's specifically intended to federate with and prosletyze to "the plebs" who have remained unreachable so far.
I just can't imagine meta not immediately defederating from anything like my content, though. So why they even say they want to federate in the first place doesn't make sense to me. Why would they want to connect with sources of posts they can't control?

Its not as though we didn't benefit wildly from boostTooting on #FalseBook for years, before we were #shadowBanned for beginning to talk about Assange when his internet was cut. We would #riff over an OP and it felt satisfiying to do that. We were able to build a following doing that — and other posting, of course. But that is not the culture we now want to see on fedi. We've come to prefer the dialogue that fediverse encourages.
If you want to #translate a toot, just translate it.
