Following #SeijiOzawa, #MTT was the best conductor that the #SFSymphony ever had but I never understood his passion for #Mahler.
I have the age & good fortune to have attended the symphony when led by both.
I'm not saying that Mahler wasn't great. He just has never been as appealing to me than the #RussianComposers. 🤦♂️

Bay Area Music Friends! The SF Symphony Chorus is striking because of a proposed 80% pay cut. It’s surreal, the picket line has megaphones but everyone sings in beautiful harmony — and there’s even modulation!
Come thru tomorrow night at Davies, between 6pm and 8pm. I think they’re gonna sing some Verdi at 7ish.
