Did you know Juneau is Alaska’s capital? I totally didn’t: had my money on Anchorage 😳 Never too old to learn something new!
The RNAV approach here is quite interesting. It gets you close to the airport, but the final leg has to be flown visually, after a 15° right turn to line up with the runway.

Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat CYXT → Stewart Aerodrome CZST
What a dramatic light today! At least for the first half of the flight. After that, it got hazier and darker with much less contrasts.
Stewart Aerodrome is approached visually and sits in a valley, so there’s not much room for the turn after the downwind. The Vision Jet probably isn’t one of the usual aircrafts seen here ;-)

Just made my first gear up belly landing in my #Xplane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet on RWY 08 at KDEN. Haven't flown in a while, fair amount of distractions tonight. I did however make it off into the grass so the airport and runway remains open.
Pretty sure it will buff out. No pics, you can imagine what carbon fiber sliding along asphalt at 100 kts might look like. (Hamburger).
Now to call the boss.

This leg again? Yep, another short test flight, in the Cirrus Vision Jet again. But the real focus? Testing the Map Enhancement Plugin for X-Plane. The scenery looks so much better with it!
Next stop? Not sure yet. But Portland, OR is just 200 nautical miles away! Rumor has it there are some amazing breweries there…

Tonight's #XPlane #flightsim mission was hauling a group of #UOregon Ducks fans from Scranton, PA to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl next Friday.
Dispatchers let me slap a Ducks logo on the side of my #Cirrus #SF50 Vision jet so the pax felt at home.

My evening: Bringing my #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus #SF50 Vision Jet northbound up from Van Nuys (KVNY) over Mt. Shasta. Awesome magic hour flight making 406 kts of ground speed at FL260 burning 132 GPH. Headed back to my base at KEUG.

Haven’t been on my #Xplane #flightsim very much lately, other things taking my time. Dispatcher called and told me to blast off out of KEUG for #Burbank (KBUR) to pick up some Hollywood execs to make the red-eye to Dallas late tonight.
Seems my Cirrus SF50 is a popular model at the FBO, the ramp is full of them. Mine however is both faster and prettier than all the others he he he…

Recently upped my #Xplane #flightsim game by downloading their entire library of world scenery. Currently ferrying my #Cirrus #SF50 Vision jet back to Duluth from Palermo, Sicily via Heathrow, Iceland, and St. John’s Newfoundland.
One exercise I did not expect is finding EU METARs and some RNAV approaches that are far more complex that the U.S.A.
Taking my virtual machine into the factory to get a larger ferry tank upgrade. Current 50 gals tank not cutting it on very long overwater crossings.

Just got 251 Charlie Victor out of the virtual paint shop at the virtual Cirrus factory in Duluth. Flew back nonstop to #Eugene (KEUG) with use of my virtual ferry tank (100 gals).
Departed just now for Aspen (KASE), this is FL280 looking down on the spine of the #Cascades and the #threesisters wilderness.

The #photographer in me loves this magic hour light on the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet I am currently flying in my #XPlane #flightsim.
Flight was from Lake Tahoe Airport (KTVL) to Portlandia (KPDX). Note the <8x ground speed> in the sky. That is X-Plane’s way of allowing a pilot to shorten the time to fly longer legs. I keep that speed on the descent, but flew the RNAV 10R approach into PDX at normal sim ground speed.

Just brought some clients into KDFW in the #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet.
Parked in front of the FBO, and see that the new sketchy (and cheap) paving crew they hired went sorta overboard on the thickness of the parking lot, and buried three cars up to the door handles.
Such is life in virtual flying.
