Sex assault allegations against prominent #SF #Democrat supervisor candidate Manny Yekutiel seems to split party acolytes and definitely slows momentum of his commanding fundraising lead in race to replace termed out Rafael Mandleman.

Candidate has lost some key endorsement from #California politicos since #SexAssault allegations from a 6 yr old party incident were made public, affecting campaign and biz at his namesake Manny's event venue in the Mission at 16th & Valencia, plus casting a shadow over nonprofit #CivicJoy he co-founded with the multi millionaire mayor Daniel Lurie.

I haven't said anything about the #hockeyCanada trial because I am disgusted.

don't @ me if you feel compelled to defend these toxic jocks.

Whoa.

Jury dismissed after a juror raised concerns about lawyers for one of the defendants mocking juror's appearance.

"a note sent to the judge… outlined concerns that Dan Brown and Hilary Dudding, lawyers representing Formenton, appeared "every day" to be whispering to each other and laughing "as if they are discussing our [jurors'] appearance" as they entered the courtroom.

"This is unprofessional and unacceptable," the note said.”

I am more comfortable, I think, with a judge deciding this case alone than with the jury.

I despise the victim blaming and implicit hero worshipping on the front page of the CBC these days as it echoes the defence arguments in the sex-assault trial against the NHL/ex-World Junior players.

The trial should not be publicized imo. All this sensational live-blogging just helps perpetuate the toxic masculinity, the victim blaming and the toxic hockey culture that allows these assaults to happen.
