Just been told by the case manager of an aged care package that Services Australia might review and remove/decrease the level of a Home Care Package if it is being underutilised.
10 months ago I explicitly asked if this would happen, and was told "No".
Use it or lose it.
This reversability is going to increase the workload on the primary carer in the short term. Though in the longer term action now may help.

Finally restored my #MyGov account and all the linkages to other government services.
(Like many other it was hacked back in November and they locked me out)
The process was very long and very stressful. I must have had to prove I was me about 100 times over 24 hours. What a ridiculously complex system.

Centrelink requires that you update your income and assets within 2 weeks of a significant change. I did that 8 weeks ago. It still hasn't been "approved". Meanwhile my account is locked. So if I have another update then I can only do that by phoning in. Then while I wait on the phone for an hour they will keep repeating how easy it is do do updates online. I'm pretty sure that all of these govt call centres are seriously understaffed at the moment. SERCO have the biggest contracts for both Centrelink & the ATO. They make huge profits while paying their call centre staff minimum wage. #Centrelink #ServicesAustralia

It is really awful to know that people who think they are doing the right thing by reporting everything accurately and completely are being systematically shut out from basic support, based on whimsical determinations of #ServicesAustralia (previously #DHS Dept. Of #HumanServices) that Section 595 of the #SocialSecuritiesAct does not relate to #SelfEmployment.
This is exposing #hobbyists to price shocks and all manner of difficulties.
